LEGO SHELL FOR KIDS-TEAM x SONY TOIO
Graduate Assistantship where I was tasked with creating versatile connectors compatible with the Sony Toio interface with the goal of creating online teaching tools that would open more creative opportunities for kids.
I contributed an iteration on previous hardware from the assistantship, creating a shell that would make the Toio robots compatible with Lego Technic parts; as well as attachments that would allow the robots to draw and carry things. These attachments improved the functionality of the previous design and improved 3D printing times by 27%.
I produced 12 sets of attachments, and sent them to be tested with kids at the University of Washington.
